This past weekend my wife and I went to see the new Bradley Cooper movie Limitless. The theme of the movie was the Bradley character took a pill that allowed him to utilize more of his brain. We have all heard the notion that we only use about 20% of our brains. The magic pill in the movie allows you to utilize 100% of your brain. Since you are using so much more of your brain, you are that much better than everyone else.

While I don't think there is any pill that lets you use 100% of your brain, I don't think we need it. One of the great things about being a person is the conscious decisions we make every day. We decide what we are going to do and how we are going to act. We choose what we are going to think about.  We choose how we are going to use our minds and brains. If we aren't using 100% of our brains, it's by our own choice.

If you want to use more of your talents, mind, brain, etc, you need to make the choice to. Instead of watching TV, read a book. Instead of sending text messages, talk with someone. Do something, learn something that will stretch your thinking.

You already have unlimited talents and limitless abilities. You just have to decide to find and develop them.

How many of you have seen a cop show or detective movie where they are checking for fingerprints from someone? There are always fingerprints on something. It seems like the person they are looking for has always left a mark on something.

We are like that too. Not so much with fingerprints on the wine glass, but instead like marks on someone's life. Whether you realize it or not you leave your mark on everyone you deal with. When you talk to someone you leave a mark. When you look at someone, hold the door, let them take that parking spot...you leave a mark. When you hug your child and tell them you love them, you leave a mark. When you kiss your sweet wife and tell her she is the light of your life, you leave a mark.

You have an unbelievable ability to make things better. By doing things small or large you will leave your fingerprints. The difference between you and the cop show though is they will smile when they see your fingerprints.

Worth Fighting For

Every day we get to enjoy the things we have. Every day we have to fight from losing them.

Sometimes people may try to take them, most times it's just us getting lazy or not thinking about what we have. Think about what you have... your friends and family, your health, job, car, love of someone. The sun we get to see every day and spring rains.

When you are going through your day do you think about what you have? If someone tried to take your car or your wallet wouldn't you want to fight them to keep what's yours? Shouldn't you do the same for the other things you have? You don't have to fight anyone else but you may have to fight yourself. Fight that desire to take things for granted.

You have so many things worth fighting for. Keep that attitude!
