Abilities and Choices

I just heard this somewhere.... "It's not our abilities that show who we are, it's our choices."

What does this mean to you? When I read it I think about the gifts we all have. The seeds of greatness in each of us and what we do with them. What are you doing with your gifts? Are you sharing them with others to make them better? Are you spreading joy and happiness?

Or are you keeping your gift to yourself? Have you buried your gold so no one can see it? Have you hid your seed of greatness or have you planted it so it can grow and be enjoyed by everyone?

What good is having an ability if no one can see it? What good is having an ability if you don't share it? Life is really about choices, about doing something with what you have. We all have the ability to choose what we do. It's our choice on what we say and what we do. It's our choosing to make a positive difference or something else.

When you go about your day choose to make a difference, choose to share, choose to move forward. Remember, it's not where you start in life, it's where you go with what you have.

No One Can Make You

No one can make you feel sad, mad, or bad unless you let them. How many times has someone said something to you or did something to you that made you angry? or sad? Has someone been rude and you reacted? Cut you off in your car on the way to work?

My point is you can't control what other people say or do. You can control how you respond though. You decide if you get angry or feel bad. You determine what your response will be.

Take control and don't just react. Don't get angry and ruin your day based on what someone else said. Don't get depressed or sad because of what someone else did. Stay positive, stay in control, and lead the life you were meant to live.

Giving to Others

Life's most persistent and urgent question is, "What are we doing for others?" - Martin Luther Ling Jr.

As you go through your day ask yourself what have you done for someone else? Have you helped someone? Have you made a difference in their life?

In order to be successful yourself you need to make someone else successful. Only when you help other people will you be able to get what you wish for. What you give is what you get.

Springtime is getting close and we are seeing more and more days in Michigan with warmer temperatures and increased sunshine. Springtime is a season of rebirth and new growth.

Just like the season, it's an opportunity for us to grow and change. We need to take this opportunity to review our life plans. What do we want to learn? Where do we want to get better? How do we want to grow?

We need to look within ourselves to see what gaps we have. Deveop a plan and take this opportunity to start over or change.

Make sure you take the time today to appreciate your greatness and the beauty of everything around you. Be thankful for everything and everyone you have in your life. Enjoy the upcoming season and use it to grow.
